Sizing Information – Do you fit in?
Years of experience has shown when the ‘average’ woman, who may have spent her earlier years as a proportioned size 10 or 12, puts on weight and becomes a size 14 experiences a complex fit challenge.
Some women put on weight in the hip but maintain a smaller bust, other women put on weight in the bust but flash a slimmer hip often with longer legs. This means that there are two very different size 14s, 16s and 18s which require very specific dynamics.
How often does the jacket fit, but not the skirt or pants? If this has happened to you then do not despair- you are NORMAL!
According to our company research, the standard measurements used as a guide in the fashion industry are not true to real women’s sizes. Therefore Liz has developed her own specific sizing guide which focuses on ‘real life’ proportions.
As a result we can confidently say that our clothing is designed to fit real women. Below is a size chart with the relevant specifications.
Liz Davenport Fit Guide
Please follow these guidelines and use a fabric tape measure to be certain you are ordering the right size. When taking measurements wear little or no clothing.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, including your shoulder blades and then drop your arms to your sides to measure.
Run the tape around your natural waistline at the naval, keeping the tape comfortably loose.
Stand with your heels together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.
With appropriate shoes on, measure from your crotch to your desired pant length. In seam measurements may vary by pant style.
Starting at the front part of your shoulder, run the tape down your back, through your legs and up over the fullest part of your chest back to the starting point.
